I hope you’ve been having an amazing Summer so far. As you may know I recently did a short stint of playing at some awesome festivals with my band. If you came along to one of those shows then Thank You! I hope you had as much as we did up on stage.
If you weren’t able to make it this time round then let me tell you about some of the fun we got up to…
The Mini Summer Tour kicked off with a wonderful set Lambeth Country Show on an absolutely gorgeous sunny day. We arrived at Brockwell Park and made our way to the Village Green Stage – which turned out to be a lot bigger than we were expecting. The rest of the band were also very excited to learn we actually had some dressing room space backstage where we were able to chill out and get everything ready before we took to the stage.
The actual show couldn’t have been more fun. With the hot Summer sun burning down, the crowds came out in force and we easily played to one of the biggest crowds we’ve ever had. Perfect Summer Day went down a treat given that… well, it really was a perfect summer day!
The energy was incredibly high for the entire show and I found myself glad that it was an outdoor gig as the breeze provided a welcome relief from the heat we were all generating on stage. I have to say a massive Thank You to OXJAM Clapham for inviting us to play on their stage and for getting our tour off to an incredible start!
Next up was Woofstock – a music festival that was organised in aid of Many Tears Animal Rescue in Wales. The event took place at Off The Cuff in Herne Hill which you may remember I played at earlier in the year. It’s our favourite venue to perform at it certainly didn’t disappoint this time round.
After listening to a full day of music before us, it was great to be one of the headline acts for the festival – especially after the event gained some coverage in the national press! Again it was a beautiful Summer day, although this time we were stuck inside. We didn’t let the rising heat stop us though and again we played to an awesome crowd – both in the venue and online as the show was streamed live via YouTube and the Woofstock website.
Thank you if you came down to watch the show or if you watched Online. You also get extra special thanks if you donated to Woofstock!
Finally, my Mini Summer Tour came to an end with CrossFest at The New Cross Inn. I was performing in Llandudno the night before so after a hurried journey back to London overnight we made our way to the venue. Once we arrived though, things couldn’t have been easier.
Normally as a band you worry about getting everything setup and sounding right before you play your set. At Crossfest though we had the easiest setup we’ve ever had and were raring to go.
Again it was a lovely sunny day and we played a fun little set to kick off the final day of Crossfest. It was a great little show at an awesome venue and one we’ve been wanting to play for a while – hopefully it we’ll be able to play it again in the future.
And that completes this roundup of my Summer Tour. We played at some wonderful events for some awesome people who I’m so grateful for coming out to support us.
If you can’t wait to see my and my band perform live again, or if you couldn’t make it this time round and want to see us in the future – Don’t Worry! We’re hoping to play some more live shows later in the year so make sure don’t miss out!
